I'm just an average high school student and for all of my life I've been a bit of a Health nut. Having been raised by a dietitian, I ended up looking for more ways to be healthier other than eating. Since I find myself reading books about real-life adventures or something related to exercise science, I came across a book called "Born To Run" by Christopher Mcdougall.
Not only was I astonished by these tribes in the copper canyons that can run ultra distances, but only wearing homemade sandals made from tires? Completely amazed, I did some research on ultra marathons and found myself signing up for one only having done a 5k and a half marathon. Ultra running wasn't the only thing I picked up from this book. I looked up more on running form and barefoot running, which I later did for three months on asphalt and my feet didn't look pretty.
However, I learned more about running mechanics from this than reading a book about it and now I'm happy to run in Altras which are just like regular running shoes but with zero drop, and wide toe box features that still allow to run like I would barefoot. This is just a small piece of my story and I created this blog to share my experiences with ultra running in hopes to inspire others to push their limits and tackle the ultra marathon!
